Dr Adrian Hemmings BSc, MA, DPhil, C.Psychol, C.Sci,  AFBPsS, UKCP.
Adrian is a chartered psychologist and senior practitioner on the British Psychological Society (BPS) Register of Psychologists Specialising in Psychotherapy.  He is also on the BPS register for Expert Witnesses.
 
After receiving a degree in psychology, Adrian trained as a psychotherapist for four years at the Minster Centre in London and has worked as a psychotherapist for 27 years in a variety of settings such as the NHS, universities and therapeutic communities.   He has also run a thriving private practice.  For 10 years he directed a research team at the University of Sussex researching into psychological interventions in primary and secondary care.  He has published internationally.  He is the editor of the Psychotherapy Section Quarterly Review published by BPS.  He and Rosalind Field have recently edited a book on psychotherapy and counselling which is published by Routledge (see publications).

Adrian developed an MSc course in Counselling Psychology at the University of Sussex and was programme director for two years. He now works in the NHS as a psychologist and psychotherapist in a local PCT where he is Professional Head of Psychology.  Adrian is also director of a local charity that offers therapy to people who have problematic alcohol and other substance misuse.

In his private practice he works short and long term and integrates Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Solution Oriented therapy.  Adrian also runs training courses in a variety of subjects and offers clinical and academic/research supervision. He is external examiner for the University of Roehampton MSc and PsychD courses in counselling psychology and psychotherapy.
 

Rosalind Field BA, MSc, CQSW, UKCP registered psychotherapist
Rosalind trained at The Minster Centre after obtaining a degree in English. She then went on to do an MSc in Social Work and has worked for over twenty years in a wide variety of settings.  These include the NHS, family centres and universities.  Alongside this she has also had a successful private practice.  

Rosalind is a qualified psychodynamic supervisor having trained at the University of Sussex and has many years experience in offering clinical supervision (see page 3). She has also been a visiting lecturer on a post graduate programme in psychotherapy at the University of Sussex.

Rosalind  completed  a two-year infant  observation course with the Squiggle Foundation and has had many years experience as a social worker/therapist working with young families. She has also trained in Family Mediation and has worked as a Family Therapist.  Rosalind now works psychotherapeutically with parents and infants/young children (if appropriate) where there are issues of maternal depression or difficulties in the relationship between parent and child.

Rosalind co-edited and contributed several chapters to a book on Psychotherapy and Counselling in private practice published by Routledge (see publications).

In  her  private practice Rosalind  integrates psychodynamic, systemic and humanistic theory to inform her work. She works with people from many different backgrounds and with a variety of difficulties. Rosalind is able to work on a short term basis and also offers longer term, open-ended psychotherapy. She has a practice base in Brighton and Barcombe.

Accredited Counsellors and Chartered Psychologists
We also have a number of associates who are accredited counsellors and chartered psychologists.  These include those who have completed post qualifying training in Alcohol and Substance Use Counselling, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
